Crawling rocks, forests or even taking a slow ride along a sandy beach can reinforce the top-down thrill of off-road adventuring, but those low speeds – and the resulting increase in under-hood temperatures and engine overheating – can rob a Jeep of efficiency and horsepower. The solution? Increased airflow! The Crawler Conceptz Hood Louver promotes cooling by giving rising hot air from the Jeep’s engine an escape. This, in turn, frees the engine to draw in cooler air via the radiator.
But this lightweight aluminum hood louver is packed with plenty of Crawler Conceptz style, too. Many manufacturers offer flat, often squared-off louvered panels that don’t coordinate well with the curved lines of the Jeep JK Wrangler. In contrast, the Crawler Conceptz Hood Louver features a shorter, wide design that seamlessly matches Jeep’s modern architecture. The louver’s two leading-edge scallops complete the package, sending a signal that this is no ordinary Jeep, it’s a crawler!
BUT WON’T THIS LET WATER UNDER THE HOOD?
This is a very common question owners pose before installing a louvered hood panel. While the 46 rear- and four forward-facing louvers will allow some additional moisture under the hood, it’s important to note that Jeep, like all vehicle manufacturers, designed the JK Wrangler’s hood as an all-weather environment. This means all the electrical connections are sealed and, save for the air intake, the engine itself is resistant to moisture infiltration.
